Overview

The Brewer 12.8 (42 feet LOA) was designed by Ted Brewer and is an exceptionally well designed and comfortable, center-cockpit, performance cruiser. It is patterned after the very popular Whitby 42. She is a shallow draft, centerboard boat with skeg hung rudder and the board retracting fully into the keel. Board up she draws 4 ft 9", which is shallow enough for the Chesapeake Bay, Florida and the Bahamas. Board down she draws 9 ft 0", for good stability in big seas and good performance to windward. She has a tall rig and is a true cutter for heavy weather and flexibility in managing headsail area without sacrificing speed or performance. The jib and staysail are self furling from the cockpit.

The interior layout is a two cabin, two head, design with the salon, galley and nav area amidships, private master stateroom and head aft, and private guest stateroom and head forward. There is a functional passageway on the starboard side and an enclosed, sound proofed engine room off the passageway.

She is loaded with functional cruising gear including, a 90 hp Ford Lehman diesel, feathering Max-prop, Onan generator, air-conditioning, refrigerator and freezer, watermaker, powered genoa winches, radar, auto-pilot, full electronics, bimini, dodger & hard windshield, dual anchors, 300 ft of chain, Nilson windlass, inflatable, outboard, SS davits, etc, etc.

The owners have just returned from a 4 week cruise on her in the Bahamas and say she was absolutely trouble free, but that they realize sadly it is time for them to find their pride and joy a new owner. She is a must see and absolutely ready to go cruising, be it to the Bahamas, the Caribbean or around the world.
