Mechanical

This Hunter 45 Centre Cockpit is powered by a Yanmar 4JH3-TE 75hp engine

Also in the engine room is a Fisher Panda 4.5Kw generator with sound enclosure, a ECHO Tec watermaker and a Bauer Junior dive compressor fitted with an additional capacitor start facility to enable it to run from the generator. 

Additional mechanicl equipment includes: engine and generator sea water strainers; 12v bilge blower; sea water pump for electric heads and deck/anchor wach hose in anchor locker; the engine is fitted with electric oil change system.

To ensure ease of maintenance, the engine room is accessible from three sides: under the companionway stairs, behind swing-down chest in aft cabin, and in the corridor from the main saloon to aft cabin. The engine room has an automatic fire extinguisher with engine shut down system plus extinguisher opening in side access door.

Sails and rigging

Rigging on this Hunter 45 CC includes a Selden Mast with B&R rigging, her standing rigging was replaced in 2017. All running rigging was removed and replaced as necessary in 2017, all mast fittings were also removed and checked.

She has a solid Boom Vang, a main sheet traveller on a stainless steel arc and all lines are led back to the cockpit. 

There is a bowsprit attachment for cruising chute. Roller drum with continuous line lead aft to portside cleat. Pole rigged and stored on the mast.

Cockpit

The cockpit of this Hunter 45CC features a teak deck, lift-up cockpit tables and cockpit seating with teak inlay and cockpit cushions. The cockpit is sheltered by a sprayhood and bimini with removable sides and full cockpit enclosure.

The cockpit helm position is equipped with electronics including ICOM VHF hand mic; Raymarine E80 multi function display mounted in Lewmar pod on binnacle; ST60 Log, Wind, Depth; auto pilot remote control handset; compass with red light; fuel gauge; bow thruster control; anchor remote & chain counter; and new fuel sensor fitted 2018

Red light night time cockpit illumination can be switched at binnacle. Two lazerette lockers aft of the helm provide plentiful storage space; there are also two cockpit sound systems. A sliding glass companionway door gives way to the interior.

 

Saloon and Galley

The saloon of this Hunter 45 Centre Cockpit is finished with the upgraded teak joinery package, with a laminated gloss Teak & Holly cabin sole. There is oyster leather upholstery, and a high gloss teak table with extension leaf, also a pull-out chest seat under table. 

The saloon and galley benefit from 2.1m of headroom. This Hunter 45 CC provides seating for guests and a large dining table which benefits from an extender panel to accommodate more guests. The seating/dining area also has the option to convert into an additional large double bed.

2017 Refit

During the summer of 2017 the boat underwent a comprehensive refit.

This included:

  • Stripping the underwater anti fouling back to original Gel coat
  • Moisture testing the hull (7-10%)
  • Removing the rudder, prop shaft and cutlass bearing for inspection and replacement.
  • Checking shaft alignment
  • Removal of bow thruster and inspection.
  • Inspection of all underwater through hulls.
  • Application of two coats of epoxy followed by a six coat Copper Bottom treatment.
  • The mast was removed and all fittings removed and or checked
  • New standing rigging.
  • All running rigging removed and replaced where necessary.
  • New VHF AIS antennas
  • Coax cables inspected
  • New LED nav lights, deck lights and spreader lights,
  • New windex
  • Roller reefing service and greased.
  • Any paint work touched up
  • The mast was re-stepped and rig re-tensioned. The rigging was the subsequently re-tensioned before crossing the south Atlantic
  • All electrical installation on the boat was serviced
  • 3 new 220 AH AGM batteries installed.
  • New engine start battery was fitted.
  • Engine and Generator were serviced and checked.
  • New fuel and water senders were fitted.
  • Fuel tank had an inspection hatch cut and the inside of the tank was cleaned out.
  • New fridge and freezer pumps were installed along with digital temperature monitors.
  • New water maker filters fitted and system checked
  • Addition deck and cockpit lighting was fitted.
  • New aft shower pump and holding tank installation.
  • All pipe work for heads was removed and cleaned or replace as necessary.
  • Heads were removed and overhauled.
