1978 Young Sun 43 Offshore Cutter
Boat Type: Cutter Address: Fort Lauderdale, FL, US Price: $79,900

Overview

If you're in the market for an extremely capable blue water cruiser, with the ability to go around the world in comfort, then this is the boat for you. The Young Sun is a heavily built world cruiser easily sailed by two persons, and performs surprisingly well in light air and is outstanding in heavy weather. This is a serious cutter-rig that is a true blue water cruiser. With her combination of molded fiberglass hull and magnificent teak, she is a classic double ender that will take her new owners anywhere in the world.

The knowledgeable owner is an extremely experienced sailor who spent 2 years preparing the vessel for a voyage to New Zealand and beyond. Following a 4000 mile mostly solo shakedown cruise from Ft Lauderdale to the Eastern Caribbean, then to Cartagena, San Blas, as well as several Panamanian ports, he returned singlehanded to Ft Lauderdale which was a 12 day non-stop 1400 mile journey. Upon his return, the 78 yr old owner has decided this vessel is a bit too much for his ability to singlehand at his age, and has reluctantly put her on the market!.
