Overview
SUMMER DREAMS with her Flag Blue Awlgrip topsides has been thoughtfully equipped and maintained by knowledgeable owners who have cruised her from Alaska through the Caribbean to New England. Her current owners purchased her in the Pacific Northwest and have sailed her on her own bottom through Panama and the Caribbean. WHEELHOUSEThree steps up from the saloon is SUMMER DREAM's wheelhouse. Port and starboard Diamond Seaglaze Dutch doors offer access to the side decks for shorthanded line handling and the Portuguese bridge. A raised dinette offers unobstructed views for guests and a lovely spot for meals or working on your laptop. Folding teak armrests have cleaver cup holders for glasses or mugs. On the aft bulkhead is a watch berth. Internal stairs lead to the flybridge. Like all the cabins, storage is abundant, including spaces designed for cruising guides and charts, which benefits a seagoing trawler. The chart table has room for a folded, full-size paper chart when extended. A Stidd seat on the centerline offers excellent visibility for the helmsman. Access to the accommodation deck is by a curved teak staircase. Found in the wheelhouse are:
Access to the saloon from the aft deck is through a Diamond Seaglaze Dutch door. To port is a U-shaped settee for seating up to seven. The ingenious high-low table is adjustable athwartships and serves as a cocktail table and a full-size dining table with the leaves open. To the starboard are two chairs and cabinets. There is even storage outboard of the settee and chairs. The battery switches, in compliance with ABYC, are near the doorway and have an inside locking mechanism for the lazarette hatch. The new smart TV and the day head opposite the galley are forward and to starboard.
Master Stateroom Amidships for comfort at sea and at anchor is the full beam master stateroom. There is liveaboard clothes storage space and four opening, screened, stainless steel portlights for cross ventilation. Hidden away is a digital safe for the ship's papers and other valuables. There is a large ensuite head with a roomy shower.
Ship's Laundry Outboard of the stairs leading to the accommodation deck behind louvered teak doors is an ASKO 24" vented dryer. At the foot of the stairs behind teak doors is an ASKO 24: washer.
VIP Stateroom sland The forward VIP stateroom has a centerline island queen berth. Four opening, screened, stainless steel portlights and an overhead Ted Hood-designed Manship stainless steel screened hatch provide ventilation and a view of the stars. There is a concealed retractable stainless steel ladder for emergency escape. Two hanging cedar-lined lockers, drawers, and compartments provide generous room for clothing.
Port Guest Stateroom For a third stateroom, this cabin is remarkably comfortable with upper & lower berths, bookshelves, a cedar-lined hanging locker, and plenty of storage. There are two opening, screened, stainless steel portlights. Opposite this cabin is a coomodious head with stall shower shared with the VIP stateroom.
Access to the flybridge is by internal stairs from the wheelhouse and circular stairs from the aft deck. The flybridge features a full suite of electronics and controls similar to the wheelhouse. There are two Selene ladderback helm seats. There is a hinged chart compartment with Lexan cover sized to fit Chartkits. An L-shaped dinette with a custom oversized table allows for up to six persons to dine. There are canvas protective covers for all the seating and helm seats. To starboard are a Magma two burner propane barbeque, sink, and drinks refrigerator. A custom mast carries the antennas, and LED flood lights illuminate the boat deck.
