Overview

Crystal Spray is a 2002 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 52.2 Sloop that is owned and cruised by an experienced and knowledgeable professional in the marine industry and her upgrades and condition reflect the care she has received during thousands of miles of bluewater cruising. She is is an outstanding example of the Bruce Farr designed Jeanneau 52.2. The fit and finish of this yacht is far superior to newer yachts. Extensive use of solid teak was incorporated into the interior joinery rather than thin laminates. Her interior upholstery is perfect and her 3 stateroom 4 head layout will accommodate the entire family in comfort. Her Sails, although not new, have had the best of care and reconditioning. Her interior is pristine, and her maintenance overall is impeccable. The knowledgeable owner that has lovingly owned her is ready to move up and she is offered turn-key and ready to enjoy immediately.

This Jeanneau 52.2 is a sea going sailboat and her owner has sailed her between New Orleans and the Virgin Islands, as well as up & down the East Coast. Her hull is reinforced with Kevlar®. There is no pan in this boat. Rather all of her finely finished furniture & bulkheads are bonded to the hull's integral, hand-laid fiberglass longitudinal stringers and athwartship ribs. This boat is built like a bank vault and will stand up to anything you're likely to throw at her. Jeanneau made the maximum use of teak and a minimum of fiberglass to create a beautiful interior. This Bruce Farr design is sure to deliver great performance as owners regularly report 250 mile days on offshore passages.

Crystal Spray is currently hauled in St. Augustine with her rig down for full inspection, some minor repairs and maintenance, and scheduled to set sail to Puerto Rico in late May, so if you are looking for a proven bluewater Cruiser in this size and price range; you won't be disappointed.  Call today to schedule a personal inspection.

Descriptions

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Sun Odyssey 52.2 is built for high performance cruising, with top priority being comfort on board and the cockpit is one of the largest among boats of this category. The perfectly integrated deck hardware simplifies sail handling. The main traveler and the Genoa tracks are totally removed from the deck passageways; the optional staysail and the asymmetrical spinnaker assure the comfort and safety philosophy under all conditions.

On board, the overall concept of space and interior design borders on the ease and comfort of a luxury yacht. The choice of quality material such as teak, and the carefully detailed finish work combine for a high level of craftsmanship. The U-shaped galley is wide and well ventilated, and fully functional with a quality stove and oven, refrigerator & freezer. Along with many easy-access storage cabinets and lockers, the galley has an easy to clean Antium countertop.

The saloon is warm and friendly and the navigation station has been particularly well designed. Many hatches and portholes provide soft natural lighting throughout the interior. All of the comfortable cabins are accessible from the main salon and each of them has its own separate washroom with shower, toilet, and sink. The owner's version forward cabin is comfortably equipped with a large berth, a desk, a vanity, two wide hanging lockers, a two private washrooms, and storage lockers.

Accommodations

The layout of Crystal Spray, a 2002 Jeanneau Sun Odyseey 52.2 is wonderful for long term cruising. She has a very large open saloon with a dinette to port and a big U-Shaped Galley to starboard. There is a big forward private stateroom with an Island berth and ensuite "his & her" heads with a sit down vanity and abundant stowage. There is also generous stowage under the centerline berth. Originally, there were two Staterooms forward, each with ensuite heads, but this owner removed the centerline bulkhead (as designed by Jeanneau for layout flexibility) creating one large Master SR forward. However, the bulkhead is in storage and will convey with the vessel, if desired to convert the layout back to the original two staterooms forward.

Aft there are two matching aft cabins with double berths, hanging lockers and cabinetry with drawers, as well as ensuite heads, each with manual Jabsco Toilets, vanity & sink, as well as generous storage above and below the Vanity.

The Navigators station is aft of the galley. It is a forward facing chart table with storage below, and a varnished teak curved seat; so comfortable and ergonomically designed for comfort at all healing angles. The Nav Station features a VHF, and electrical panels within easy reach. The NavMan Chartplotter & Radar shown in photos is now "inoperable."

The main saloon and forward cabins are heated and cooled by a 16,000 BTU air conditioning system.

The interior of this boat is very spacious because of her nearly 16' beam, yet furniture and cabinetry is well-designed and positioned through-out this vessel to safely move about the interior under rough sea conditions and have plenty of firm and solid furniture to grab or lean against. She has great over head ventilation with screens and blinds built in to each Deck and Opening portlight.
